How do I apply the edible icing image?

  • Remove the icing sheet from the zip lock bag provided with clean, dry hands.
  • Carefully peel the backing off.
  • Pat down gently to make sure that there are no air bubbles underneath the sheet.
  • Leave for about 20 to 30 minutes to allow the icing sheet to absorb into your cake's icing and become and become a part of the cake

    What is the shelf life of the edible icing image?

    Your icing sheet has a shelf life of approximately 12 months in the zip lock bag. Although they are best to use within 3 months of being printed.

    When should I apply the edible icing image?

    It is best to apply your icing sheet close to your event and when the cake is at room temperature. Depending on how wet your frosting is, the image will begin to fade with too much moisture. We suggest placing the sheet on the cake within an hour.

    What kind of icing can the edible image sheet be used with?

    Icing sheets can be used on most types of icing. However, they work best on buttercream type of icing. If applying to ice cream cake, mist the surface of the ice cream with milk or let the ice cream soften slightly before applying the sheet. When applying to fondant, use a brush to apply a small amount of water where the sheet will be placed.

    It is not recommend to place the icing sheets directly onto whipped cream due to the high moisture content, which will be absorbed by the icing sheet and impact the quality of the image. If you wish to apply the edible image to whipped cream, apply a thin layer of fondant or white chocolate first, to act as a barrier between the cream and the icing sheet.

    What are the ingredients of the edible icing sheets?

    Starches (E1422, E1412) Maltodextrin, Glycerin, Sugar, Water, Stabilizers (E414, E460i), Dextrose, Emulsifiers (E435, E471), Food Colour (E171), Flavours (Vanilla), preservative (E202, E330).

    What are the ingredients that you use for the edible ink?

    Water, Humectant E422, Acidifier E330, Preserver E202, Colourings E102, E122, E133, E151

    Are edible images suitable for people with allergies?

    The edible icing sheets are gluten, dairy, egg & nut free. The edible icing sheets may contain traces of corn. 

    When will you send my edible icing sheet?

    We will always try to post orders within 24 hours of receiving payment. We do not post on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

    How do I upload my photos/images to print on the edible icing sheet?

    Once you have completed your order a confirmation email will be sent out, check your inbox. You simply reply to this email with your images attached.

    How large do my photos/images need to be in order to print on edible icing?

    Your uploaded images and photos need to be 300dpi in resolution or at least 500kb in size. A basic rule is, if your image is still clear at 100% of your computer screen size it should be good. Always try to use the original image. Screenshots and images coming from Facebook or Whatsapp will be compressed and will lose quality.

    What file types do you accept?

    jpg, gif, png, pdf.  If you are unsure you can always just email your image through in whatever format you have and we will let you know if it is going to work.

    Will the colours print exactly the same?

    Please note the colours of an edible print may vary from the original. This is because we print with edible ink on edible paper. Its composition is different from normal ink. We try to print as close to the original as possible. Any 'hot/bright/ultra colours' cannot be matched, they will always print darker.
